Since our move in August of last year, I've appreciated the convenience of this 🥙 mediterranean 🧆 mideastern ba'ala 🙏🏼 Lulu's [International] Market can never replace the beloved ba'ala where generations of my family shopped for Greecian & Turkish 'goods' .. but Lulu's has become a comforting staple in our transition from the previous residency to El Cajon. Today I brought my 21 yo son to this spacious, lively market where I witnessed his approval & appreciation for the variety of freshly prepared hot foods (like beef/chicken shawarma & pilaf) & left more confident that my boy will refer to this place of business when craving Mom's home cooked meals though no longer living under my care 🥰🙏🏼 I recommend planning a visit to Lulu's & allow yourself the ability to 'be in the moment' during your shopping adventure!! 👍🏼☺️ ~ alexia

I have shopped at this store twice and both yes have been pleasantly surprised by the inventory (something for everyone) , as well as, the friendly, kind and patient staff. Oh ,and the smells coming from the on site restaurant are enticing ; however the main star of this production is the prices. I am hoping the Covid did not change any of the things I described. Not everything is price friendly,; however, when blended with those that are, you barely feel the pinch! I would take the time and if nothing else, do something different this week. Lulu’s International Market has truly stepped up with their recent remodel! The store looks clean, modern, and inviting, making for a much better shopping experience. The prepared food section is fresh and delicious, and the entire layout is organized and easy to navigate. I used to do most of my grocery shopping at Valley Foods, but after visiting Lulu’s, I’m officially making the switch. If you’re looking for quality ingredients and a well-curated shopping experience, this is the place to go! ~ Bella O

With my Lebanese chef background, I was struck by the outstanding sandwich quality. A recommendation highlighted the absence of lamb in their beef shawarma, differing from Iraqi establishments. The elderly gentleman showed humility and kindness, contrasting with another gentleman's agitation. The older gentleman’s passion made me a satisfied customer. Through extensive travel and trying various restaurants, I firmly believe this tops all San Diego eateries, including the Wagyu Shawarma place. ~ C C

I really enjoyed my visit to Lulu's today. I went to the grocery store looking for Hamburger helper. They did not have it. However, I found out that they have a very large and very nice produce section. I bought a Quince. They also sell octopus, tea pots, regular pots and pans, bulk candies and nuts by the pound. They also have a large tea section, both loose leaf and the kind in the tea bags. I am very please that I found this store today. Amazing. ~ BobbiJo

Other than the rude, pushy, oblivious to their surrounding, customers who shop here. This place is great. Huge selection of all things. Fresh, fruits, vegetables, and meats. Meat department is very clean and has great prices. I enjoy the weekend sales where you can get discounted meat and vegetables. I absolutely enjoy the fresh bread they make right in front of you. Low prices on produce. Huge spice collection and bulk bin items. Also an expanded section of in store packaged dairy and cheese. If you need probiotics, they have really good keiffer. However, the real hidden gem here is the very best kabobs in all of East County! You know that experience when you bite into something and your surprised by the flavor, this is why our family comes here for special occasions. ~ James R

This is my new neighborhood store since my MD suggested that I change my food choices into a Mediterranean, Pescatarian, and vegan-leaning diet. This place is extremely clean and spacious, filled with almost anything a Middle Eastern cook would need at a reasonable price. It also has cooked food, an active bakery, and aisles of interesting produce to peruse. One challenge for me is finding things, but this should change once I have become a regular customer! Although most of the languages are Middle Eastern, there are bilingual speakers around who can help clueless shoppers find what they need. I spent $100+ this month; but there was no buyer's remorse because every item was necessary to restock my fridge and pantry! One friendly guy (must've been someone in authority) noticed my undecided gaze into a closed bakery case, took out a delectable pastry, and broke it in half to share it with me! We ate it in front of GOD, shoppers, and smiling employees! It was very tasty with a 0.99 price tag! Needless to say, those rows of beautiful produce, as well as the overall ambience, will draw me back regularly! ✔️💯🔥🎊😄❣️ ~ Linda R

If you have never been.. just go.. especially between 3-6.. they have middle eastern prepared foods and salads.. the combos all come w hummus and tabuli and the bread is the highlight.. lots of other stuff that you can't buy at typical grocery store..I also get rotisserie chicken here and they have a few different rice preparations that are delicious.. ~ Randy C

Remember this is a market. But they have a big full kitchen. 5 starts because everything that I ate was fresh, the portion was big, the service was fantastic (like they really make and effort to please the guest) and last but not least the price was excellent. It was my first visit but I will go again to try other options from their menu. Stay tune ~ Angel A

Lulu's market is just down the street from where I reside. I often rush here when I NEED something in a pinch. The prices here arent really that bad either. The best thing regarding Lulu's market is the UNBELIEVABLE sales that they offer on Wednesdays! I need to mention that the customer service here is very satisfactory. This market offers all our Mediterranean favorites. We enjoyed their salad bar and we're thrilled to find fresh baked bread for their fresh made Babaganush & hummus. Great reasonably priced produce and meats. They also offer pretty packaged meals with meat and rice. This is a very clean market. ~ Stephanie C

What a wonderful middleastern version of a full service supermarket. Lots of ethnic foods and spices and produce of all types. In house bakery and hot food bar that's good some amazing stuff! I'm gonna be shopping here a lot! Highly recommend checking out this place. ~ Imraan

Went for just eggs since I forgot them on my grocery run to a big chain grocery store. When I was there I browsed a little and EVERYTHING I got earlier I saw was at Lulu's and priced LESS than a big box store!! Staff was friendly. Not too engaging seemed a bit robotic but, nonetheless nice. ~ Nemah

Great place for hot food catered or individual portions. I got the special 2 chicken sandwiches for $5 were very good! Made right in front of you. Very clean and spacious supermarket. Fresh warm bread and tortillas smell soo good too. Really worth taking a look! ~ Duraid H

Groceries and fresh baked bread are an absolute plus to this place, only thing I wouldn't do here is order food, you'll wait forever and never get the right order even ordering in their native language. So groceries and baked goods yes, cooked food NO! ~ Sewar A

Great produce selection, even frozen Fava beans and Lupini beans in a jar, best beans there are. The store has a very good selection of teas also. The personnel were very friendly and welcoming, I did not try the grill for take out food but will be back. ~ A B

Love this store! The produce is fresh and reasonably price. An employee went out of his way to assist me as I forraged thru isles of Middle Eastern goods. I always feel fuzzy and warm when I get that kind of customer service. ~ Fred E

This is my favorite place to buy fruits and veggies. Ever since I found them I wont ship anywhere else ! Their prices are beyond reasonable and sometimes they have organic! 2lbs of grapes $1 . 4 organic pulms' 57 cents. Awesome place! ~ Breanna F

Their meat prices are awesome. That's the only things I buy there but meat is fresh. They will also cut you meat if you go there before 3:30 pm. They also serve hot meals. It's a little grocery store with great potential. ~ Robin L

It's been nice to watch Lulu's get nicer and nicer. There are lots of fresh vegetables and fresh food, including bread. In the back there is one of my favorite things 3 or 4 different types of feta cheeses, all fresh. ~ mark m

Try their pizza. Simply the best! Don't expect your greasy cheesy dominos type. The prices are great and the variety of international products is very impressive. I am Mexican-American and I'm impressed by this market products and prices ~ S J

This is a ethnic store with lots of variety of foods. I can try something new every time I go. Almost everything I have tried has tasted real good. The employees are always friendly. Parking is always enough. No long lines. Fair prices. ~ A H
